The
Link-IT reader
connects to the serial port on the computer and
reports the presence of all compatible tags.
The computer operates normally when the tag is in
the vicinity of the reader. As soon as the
transmission is terminated (for example the user
leaves for a meeting) the software enables a
security screen saver. Access is completely
denied and the computer remains locked until the
user returns with the authorized tag.
The
Link-IT software
is able to authorize multiple tags for a single
computer and has user and administrator password
capabilities.
The
system also has the ability to set a computer to
only operate in a specific location. This is
done with the optional
location tag function. This means that
the computer is inoperable if removed from its
